Trading rules

• Every trade offer for an order on the site includes the security code from your order page. If the code is missing or different, decline the offer.
• Two kinds of offers have no code. A trade you start yourself in Steam chat with our bot comes from that same bot, with the items and payout it gave you in chat. A giveaway prize offer starts with "tf2.gg giveaway" and never asks for your items.
• tf2.gg staff and bots never message you first on Steam or Discord, never ask you to "verify" items, and never ask for your password, Steam Guard codes or API key.
• Only use the trade URL from your own Steam account, and check the crypto address and network before you sell.
• If something looks wrong, decline the trade offer in Steam and contact us through the contact page.

• Items in your own Steam inventory that are tradable right now.
• A public Steam profile and inventory, and your own trade URL saved on your account.
• An account without a trade hold. We do not trade with accounts on a trade hold, for keys or for crypto, on the site or through our bots.
• Items you got legitimately: from drops, crafting, trading or purchases.
• One account per person.

• Stolen items, items from compromised accounts, duplicated items, or items bought with payments that were later reversed or charged back.
• Selling on behalf of someone else, or using several accounts to get around limits or reviews.
• Using tf2.gg to launder money or to move value from fraud or any other crime.
• Exploiting obvious pricing errors or bugs, or trying to manipulate the prices we offer.
• Automated access that strains the site (scraping, flooding requests) or attempts to break its security.
• Impersonating tf2.gg, our staff or our bots, or harassing staff.

Depending on the case we may cancel pending orders, hold or reclaim payouts where the law allows, restrict the account, or ban it. Serious fraud may be reported to Steam and the authorities.

A staff member checks some orders before the trade offer is sent, for example large amounts or new accounts. This protects you and us. Most reviews are done the same day.
