Selling
How does selling work?
Sign in with Steam and add your trade URL. We load your backpack and show what we pay for every item. Pick what you want to sell, choose keys or crypto and press Sell. One of our bots sends you a trade offer. Accept it in Steam and you get paid.
How do you price items?
We look at what the big trading bots on backpack.tf are paying for each item right now, and we pay a share of the best offer. Items we have our own buy order for are priced from that order. Every item shows two prices: keys plus refined metal, and the same value in crypto. Your prices are held for 10 minutes and the sell page refreshes them before they run out. You can reload your backpack yourself once every 2 minutes.
Why do you pay less than backpack.tf?
Backpack.tf shows what traders ask from or offer each other, and finding a buyer there can take days. We pay you right away and take on the work and risk of selling the item again, so our price is below that.
Why does a second copy of the same item pay less?
The first copy pays our full price. Every extra copy of the same item in one sale pays a little less, down to a set minimum, because we already hold more of it. The sell page shows the price of each copy before you sell. Featured items and keys pay the same for every copy.
Which items don't you buy?
Untradable items, items still on a trade hold, crafting metal, war paints, anything with a wear (Factory New to Battle Scarred), unusual weapons, Self-Made and Community items, and items worth less than about 15 refined. Everything else, crates and cases included, gets a price. On the sell page these items are greyed out with the reason.
Why was my order reviewed?
A staff member checks some orders before the trade offer goes out: your first sale if it is $100.00 or more, any order of $300.00 or more, and orders from accounts marked for review. You don't need to do anything. The order page updates as soon as the order is approved.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes, as long as you haven't accepted the trade offer. Decline it in Steam, or leave it: it is canceled after 15 minutes. Your items stay with you and you can sell again right away.
What if I don't accept the trade offer in time?
A trade offer stays open for 15 minutes. After that our bot cancels it and nothing leaves your backpack. Start a new sale to get current prices.
I have a trade hold. Can I still sell?
No. We do not trade with accounts that have a trade hold, for keys or for crypto, on the site or through our bots. Use the Steam Mobile Authenticator for 7 days and the hold goes away.
Payouts
Should I take keys or crypto?
Every item shows both prices, so compare and pick. Keys and metal come in the same trade offer as your items. Crypto goes to your wallet right after you accept the offer. Keys themselves we only buy for crypto.
Which crypto do you pay in?
USDT on BEP20 (BSC) or TRC20 (Tron), and USDC on BEP20. The network fee comes out of the payout. Before you sell you see the fee and the exact amount that reaches your wallet.
How is part of a key paid?
In refined metal, at the current backpack.tf key price. A payout of one and a half keys is 1 key plus half a key in refined.
Is there a minimum or maximum?
Crypto payouts start at $25.00 per order. There is no minimum for keys. The maximum is 300 keys per order, or the same value in crypto, and $2,000.00 per day.
How fast do I get paid?
Keys and metal arrive in the same trade offer as your items. Crypto is sent automatically after you accept the trade, usually within a few minutes. Large orders and first orders may be checked by a staff member before the offer is sent.
Giveaways
How do giveaways work?
Every month we give away three prizes: an unusual for first place and two more for second and third. Each ticket you put in is one entry, and the winners are drawn when the timer runs out.
How do I get tickets?
One ticket for every key you sell to us (crypto sales count at our crypto price of a key), 5 when you join and 2 every day on the giveaways page. Free tickets need a public Steam profile and an account at least 30 days old. Tickets you don't put in stay on your account.
How are winners picked?
At random, and every ticket has the same chance. Before a giveaway starts we lock a secret seed and show its fingerprint. After the draw we publish the seed and the list of tickets, so anyone can check that the result was not changed.
How do I get my prize?
Our bot sends a trade offer to the trade URL on your account right after the draw. Its message starts with "tf2.gg giveaway" and it only gives you the prize, it never asks for your items. You need a public Steam profile and no trade hold. Accept the offer within 24 hours, or that place is drawn again.
Safety
How do I know a trade offer is really from tf2.gg?
Every order on the site has a security code on its order page, and our trade offer shows that exact code. If the code is missing or different, decline the offer. Two kinds of offers have no code. A trade you start yourself in Steam chat with our bot, for example with a sell command, comes from that same bot with the items and payout it gave you in chat. A giveaway prize offer starts with "tf2.gg giveaway" and never asks for your items. We never message you first on Steam or Discord.
Do I ever send items first?
No. Our bot sends the offer. You check the items and the payout in Steam, and only then accept.
Why do I need to confirm a new wallet?
If a payout is going to a wallet we have never paid before, we ask you to confirm it first. This protects you if someone else gets into your account. Every change to your wallet or trade URL also shows up under the bell and in Account activity in your settings.
Do I need to verify my identity?
No. Selling only needs your Steam account and trade URL. In rare cases, such as a very large sale or suspicious activity, we may ask you to confirm your identity or where your items came from before we send the trade offer.
What is the marketplace?
Soon you'll be able to list items at your own price and cash out what sells. Until then, you can sell everything we buy through Instant Sell.
